Layne was unsure about college until his first visit to SEMO. The moment he stepped onto campus, he felt the community and the sense of family around him.

By the time classes began, he arrived confident and connected. Layne says that confidence came from the way SEMO showed up for him before he ever became a Redhawk, opening doors he never imagined possible.

That experience is intentional. Every campus visit is led by current SEMO students, so you see campus the way it’s actually lived. For Layne, giving tours later on was a reminder of just how special this place really is.
